Simply Loft and Carbon Off-Setting

As a leading construction firm in London, the Simply Construction Group is taking action in the fight against climate change and global warming. Construction is one of the worst industries for carbon emissions, emitting up to 36% of the world’s carbon emissions (WBCSD 2018). There are limited ways construction companies can move towards being sustainable and eco-friendly at the present moment in time, but positive climate action can still be achieved for many construction businesses.

The loft conversion sector has been a focus for climate activists in recent years, with new government schemes encouraging homeowners to have their lofts insulated. Simply Loft fully supports this initiative and will discuss your insulation options with you at your initial site survey. As a business, we have also adopted a reduced paper approach that is not widely carried out in the construction industry. Our Simply Dashboard enables you to keep all of your important documents together in one place, without the need for multiple pieces of paper and documentation. However, climate change is a growing societal issue, and so Simply Loft wanted to go a step further to improve our climate footprint.

At Simply Loft, we now carbon offset our employee’s emissions through Ecologi, an environmental organisation that plants trees across the world with our funding. These trees contribute towards reducing the amount of carbon in the earth’s atmosphere, to reduce the effects of global warming and climate change.

Not only does our funding go toward planting vital trees across the world, but it also helps to fund eco-projects in many countries. Ecologi works with projects across the globe including the Eden Project Reforestation Project, Wind Farms in Turkey, Solar Farms in India and so much more. Each month we are planting 154 trees, and removing 10.6 tonnes of carbon from the earth’s atmosphere to offset our employees carbon emissions.
